The Schmidt Original Nabendynamo (SON) is finally available for ICE trikes. With this high-end generator, you are perfectly prepared for all climatic challenges. Whether the ground is softened after continuous rain or it has been snowing: the SON hub dynamo reliably delivers power to your connected devices. It does not matter if the tyres are soiled with mud or slush; unlike conventional systems, this hub dynamo operates completely independently of external influences.
The SON also impresses with its outstanding efficiency and minimal rolling resistance. When the light is switched off, the wheel runs as smoothly as a high-quality hub without a generator. Thanks to the unique pressure compensation system and the use of SKF bearings, the system is also extremely durable and virtually maintenance-free.
Handcrafted precision from our workshop
Each wheel is meticulously handcrafted in our specialised workshop specifically for you. We use the robust Remerx Grand Hill aero profile rim and 36 precisely tensioned stainless steel spokes. Through repeated manual stress-relieving and a truing accuracy of 0.2 to 0.3 mm, we guarantee an extremely stable wheel that is perfectly matched to the high lateral forces and the specific geometry of ICE recumbent trikes.
